Driven & Empowered Women Experiencing Restoration & Success

DEWERS has identified a critical need for comprehensive support among women in Harris and Galveston
counties, as well as the surrounding areas. These women face numerous challenges, including low income, lack
of education, homelessness, addiction recovery, medical conditions, and widowhood. It has become
increasingly evident that they require not only assistance with essential resources but also guidance and
support to overcome their circumstances and achieve self-sufficiency for themselves and their families.
While several non-profit organizations and churches offer food aid, there is a significant gap in our community
for holistic support that addresses the multifaceted needs of these women. DEWERS aims to fill this void by
providing a range of services that include:

• Educational programs
• Job skills training
• Resume building assistance
• Financial literacy education

• Meetings At the Well 
• Establishment of support networks for widows
